Client Brief
Battlefy engaged Thunder to produce the VBL International Series livestream on Twitch for Bundesliga.
Event
Runtime: 2 Days
The live FIFA sidecast, with sports host Keith Costigan, was filmed on set in Thunder’s dedicated Broadcast Stage (Stage 6). The hybrid broadcast
included both live streamed and pre-recorded elements which included two independent segments for the North America and Asia International Series Finals of FIFA. The two-day weekend event was streamed on Twitch.
Broadcast
This was a live event; however, the game feeds were recorded remotely the day prior. Thunder’s game feeds were sent before each show day and played back live for each match, while following directions of timecodes and match results from the Battlefy UK Team. All other content and
sidecasting was live.
A comprehensive Run of Show for each day was developed. Thunder, taking into consideration the game feeds that needed to play back live, recorded with 2 cameras on the studio host Keith Costigan and one remote guest Rob Gonzales via Skype TX. Both hosts did live casting over the game feeds, and all line cuts (final show) were delivered post-event within 48hrs to the UK Battlefy team to download.
Virtual Bundeliga (VBL) and Battlefy were impressed with Thunder’s broadcast expertise and one-stop production capabilities.
Creative Development
Thunder was engaged to develop and execute all aspects of the live stream event. After a comprehensive Run of Show for each day’s stream was developed, Thunder was responsible for all set design and build, all talent casting and coordination, all programming and Run of Show development, all graphic design overlays, and, of course, all broadcasting live on Twitch.
