Client Brief
Thunder was engaged by Ader Gaming to build and produce a high-profile gaming and pop culture crossover promotional event showcasing Bethesda Game Studios’ online RPG Fallout 76.
Event
Runtime: 3 hours
The Fallout 76 pre-release stream, aired on Twitch and Mixer, was produced to promote Bethesda’s latest entry in their long running Fallout videogame series. Ninja, of Fortnite fame, rapper Logic, and cartoon duo Rick and Morty (voiced by showrunner Justin Roiland) were brought together to showcase and explore the new post-apocalyptic game together. The viewing audience was able to interact in real time with both the human and the animated gamers.
Broadcast
Showrunner and voice of Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, broadcast from the Thunder Arena VIP Suite while Ninja and Logic patched in from their respective homes. The implementation of real time animation to control the onscreen Rick and Morty characters was unique to this production. Thunder created and custom built an enhanced stream deck controller filled with pre-loaded gestures and reactions and foot pedals to allow Justin to switch between characters while live streaming from Thunder.
“Popular Twitch streamer Tyler “ninja” Blevins and hip-hop artist Logic will be teaming up for a Fallout 76 stream with two unexpected guests: Rick and Morty. The Crew will be taking on the latest entry in Bethesda’s long-running “Fallout” series, Fallout 76, marking the first time in streaming history where human and animated gamers are playing together.” VARIETY
